Kamvelihle Sanquela (tuba) selected for FSSO Youth Festival Concert
Nelson Mandela University Department of Music and Performing Arts 3rd year BMus tuba student has been selected to participate in the Free State Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Festival Concert.
The event will take place on 9 August 2025 in the Odeion Auditorium, on the campus of the University of Free State in Bloemfontein. Kamve will perform the 2nd and 3rd movement of the highly esteemed Tuba Concerto by Edward Gregson accompanied by the renowned Free State Symphony Orchestra.
Chesnay Potberg, 2nd year BMus trumpet student, made the finals of the 2025 Yamaha Young Soloist Music Competition. Handing over her certificate is Eustace Wilken, the competition director and Product Manager for Band and Orchestral Products for the Yamaha Corporation.

Our very own 3rd-year BMus Piano student (with trumpet as his second instrument) recently took part in the prestigious Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival this July — showcasing his skills as both a pianist and trumpeter!
